Effect of chronic phencyclidine or d-amphetamine treatment on [3H]spiroperidol binding in rat caudate-putamen and nucleus accumbens

Abstract

Chronic treatment (20 days) of rats with d-amphetamine decreased the density, but had no effect on the apparent affinity of [3H]spiroperidol binding sites in caudate-putamen and nucleus accumbens. In contrast, chronic phenycyclidine treatment had no effect either on the number or on the affinity of [3H]spiroperidol binding sites in these two brain regions.
