Abstract

The effective dielectric constant, epsilon //e, for a two phase material is found. The first phase has a constant dielectric constant, epsilon //0. The second has a dielectric constant which is a function of the local electric field. epsilon //e is found for low volume fractions and in particular for when the second phase consists of spherical inclusions of uniform radius in a periodic or random array.
