Abstract

In this paper the author presents a general model for the transfer of a project from the research phase to the developmental phases. It is a model practiced in the current operations in the medical electronics industry in an attempt to minimize failure and to speed up project transfer. The model has particular utility when applied to a technology new to the corporation. Projects well within the bounds of current corporate technology tend to have easier passage and may profitably leap-frog certain details of the model.
