Effects of DNA-distorting proteins on DNA elastic response

Abstract

The effects of DNA-distorting proteins on DNA elastic response were analyzed. The problem was theoretically analyzed using discrete wormlike-chain models to describe the mechanics of protein-DNA composites. For strong binding, the force response was found to depend strongly on the bending stiffness of the DNA-protein complex.
