Abstract
The objective of this investigation was to study the effect of vanadia loading on Davison silica for the oxidative dehydrogenation of butane. Due to high levels of sodium and calcium on this silica, the effect of these impurities will also be studied. Comparisions will be made with Cabosil silica-supported V2O5 which had low levels of sodium and calcium. The effect of modification with cesium on the catalytic properties was also investigated.
