Abstract

The characterization of electro-optic properties of single crystal thin films of organic materials grown by plate-guided methods were described. The thin film crystal sample showed strong electro-optic effect under external electric field in the longitudinal configuration. The half-wave voltage and the figure-of-merit of the NPP sample were obtained by using the a.c. modulation technique in longitudinal mode. The results showed that the longitudinal elctrooptical effects existed and allowed to evaluate its coefficients.
