Abstract

(Figure Presented) Charge on through: Perylenediimide chromophores incorporated into DNA hairpins serve as base-pair surrogates and form a zipperlike intercalated structure (see picture). Electron hopping was observed within the chromophore stacks upon one-electron reduction.
