Abstract

The chiral macrocyclic polyethers (R)-D-(5) and (S)-D-(5) derived from D-mannitol and (R)- and (S)- binaphthol respectively exhibit comparable enantiomeric selectivities in complexing (±)-(RS)-α- phenylethylammonium hexafluorophosphate under equilibrium conditions.
