Abstract

Subureteral injection of polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon) for correction of vesicoureteral reflux was first utilized in 1981. Concerns about long-term effects remain, but the frequency of good results and the ease of achieving a cure make this endoscopic approach a valuable alternative to open repair.
