Abstract

This work explores male representations in "La Cantata Santa María de Iquique" (Advis, 1969) and in "Santa María de las flores negras" (Rivera Letelier, 2002), as well as the relations between the popular world and the literary world in order to determine the efficacy or pertinence of literature when it comes to representing the popular male subject.
