Abstract

The purpose of earth compaction, various results obtained, and field control are discussed. The types of specifications and laboratory tests are covered to aid the specifier in soil engineering problems. Density, water content and other field test procedures are presented and the advantages and disadvantages of the various possible tests are analyzed.
