Extraction of light from microdisk lasers by radial direction coupling waveguide

Abstract

Extraction of light from microdisk lasers using radial direction coupling waveguide is investigated numerically. FDTD simulation demonstrates higher coupling efficiency into a single-port output compared to the conventional tangential direction waveguide coupling scheme.
