Abstract
A fast-response, atmopsheric trace gas monitor has been developed on the principle of tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy. The gas monitor can be used to make eddy correlation measurements of dry deposition fluxes. The system is capable of detecting many trace gases with high sensitivity and selectivity with a response time of 0.3 s. The monitor was tested under winter and summer field conditions and was shown to have adequate sensitivity and time response for eddy correlation. Tests using the eddy correlation technique to measure the fluxes of NO2, SO2, and H2O are discussed.
