Abstract
Carbon-nanotube-based nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) with close-loop feedback were discussed. A source and a feedback resistor were included in the actuation circuit. The device had two well-defined stable equilibrium positions as a result of tunneling and incorporation of a feedback resistor. The potential applications for the device included NEMS switches, nonvolatile random access memory elements and gap sensing devices.
