Abstract

A previous study has demonstrated many novel low-noise devices that utilize phase-insensitive and phase-sensitive optical parametric amplification in optical fibers. This paper presents a summary of two of new results: the demonstration of noise-free gain with use of an MF-based phase-sensitive nondegenerate optical parameter amplifier and the demonstration of low-jitter 10GHz-rate pulse generation simultaneously at multiple wavelengths in the L band by exploiting four-wave mixing in HNLF.
