It has previously been used to examine types of food-related reactions8 and food allergies reported in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis.9 Permission to analyze data from 2017-2021 was granted to study investigators by FARE. All participants were asked to report “symptoms that developed within 2 hours of eating the food or foods that produce an allergic reaction.” Respondents younger than 18 years at the time of survey completion were considered pediatric. Adult respondents were 18 years or older at the time of survey completion. For adults, food allergy was classified as childhood-onset (“CO”) if the symptoms started before 18 years old or adult-onset (“AO”) if symptoms started at 18 years or older.
