Abstract

The focus was on the future in this workshop on linked data and its use by libraries. While defining terms, demonstrating text editing and ontology modeling tools, and explaining the syntax of linked data ontologies as they currently exist, presenters Amber Billey and Robert Rendall stressed the continuously evolving nature of linked data, and encouraged librarians to keep informed of new developments, participate in the discussions of new standards, and advocate for changes to vocabularies and structures to provide the best possible resource description and information for library patrons.
