Abstract

Several tools exist to help evaluate the gastrointestinal (GI) system after a thorough yet focused history and physical exam. These tools involve laboratory assessment, imaging, and endoscopy. All have the potential to help with diagnosis, while some have the ability to provide therapy as well. This chapter will focus on individual tests available, while other chapters in this book will provide context regarding use and application.
