Abstract

The effect of tethered polymers on the gel/gel adhesion was studied by using the single-chain mean-field theory. It was shown that the gel surface structure, the gel/gel adhesion strength, the equilibrium gel/gel distance, and the detailed interface can be tailored by designing tethered layers on gel surfaces.
