Abstract

This chapter discusses the care of transgender and gender nonconforming youth. This includes a review of terminology and overview of gender care including medical and surgical treatments. Demographics of transgender and gender nonconfirming youth and participation in sports and physical activity are also discussed. Finally, there is a review of transgender athlete sports performance and inclusion in competitive athletics.
