Abstract
The growth mechanism and properties of ZnO nanorods synthesized using plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition was discussed. It was found that ZnO nanorods were single crystal and they exhibited along the c-axis of the crystal plane. It was observed that the alignment of these nanorods with respect to the substrate depended on the lattice mismatch between ZnO and substrate. Analysis shows that origin of green emission were oxygen vacancies and zinc interstitials and oxygen interstitials were responsible for the orange-red emission.
