Abstract

A summary of the different noninvasive radiative electromagnetic techniques operating in or near the frequency range 30-300 MHz currently under investigation for producing deep hyperthermia is presented. In clinical practice power steering capabilities are important to adequately heat the tumor volume. The different techniques that are currently being studied to manipulate the absorbed power patterns for the BSD annular phased array hyperthermia system are reviewed.
