Abstract

This paper introduces a new type of graph, the high order graph, which is an effective tool for structural modeling of complex systems. The properties of high order graphs are discussed and several specialized high order graphs are presented. The applicability of high order graphs to conceptual modeling in database systems is demonstrated, in particular their suitability for view integration and for the uniform representation of various concepts.
