Abstract

Worthy of merit: The new class of nanostructured p-type thermoelectrics Na1-xPbmSbyTem+2 is reported. The exceptionally high thermoelectric figures of merit ZT of these materials (see graph), which exceed those of the state-of-the-art materials PbTe and (GeTe)1-x((Ag2Te)1-y-(Sb2Te 3)y)x (TAGS), derive from their very low lattice thermal conductivities.
