Abstract
QCD predicts that besides the qq̄ mesons and qqq baryons, there should exist hadrons with valence gluons, the qq̄g hybrids and the gg, ggg glueballs. Serious experimental searches for these exotic structures are currently in progress. Their status is reviewed.
