Abstract

Chylomicrons with a decreased ratio of C-II/C-III apoproteins on their surface were produced by the addition of apoproteins C-III-O or C-III-3 to intact rat lymph chylomicrons. These chylomicrons inhibited the activity of soluble lipoprotein lipase in vitro, but had no effect on the activity of the endothelium-bound enzyme in the perfused heart.
