Immunomodulatory effects of Lentinan

Abstract

The immunomodulatory effects of Lentinan (LNT) werer studied. The resutls showed that diminished production of the splenocytes in immunosuppressed mice induced by cyclophosphamide was restored by LNT (0.5,1,2 mg·kg-1δ-1 x 5 d, ip). LNT (1 ~ 125 mg·L-1) markedly enhanced Con A induced murine splenocyte proliferation and IL-2 production by murine splenocytes. Their concentration effect curves seem to be bell-shaped, suggesting that LNT have a dual immunomodulatory activity in a dose-dependent manner.
