Abstract
Organizational innovation is often accomplished by a system of teams, each of which holds specialized expertise. These cross-functional multiteam systems (MTSs) require leadership that enables knowledge integration across teams. This paper leverages a social network approach to collective leadership to identify relationships between patterns of informal leadership and MTS innovation.
