Abstract

Five distinct mammographic patterns of ILC were identified from reviewing 50 biopsy-proved cases. When there was an overlap of category type, usually involving the presence of microcalcifications, assignment to a radiographic pattern was made on the basis of the dominant features. Awareness of these five patterns and their pathologic correlates can heighten perception of this infiltrating lesion and perhaps permit earlier diagnosis.
