Abstract

We reevaluated IgE-mediated insulin allergy using sera obtained 16 to 21 years ago and, 1 and 5 years ago. All antibodies had specificity for human and bovine insulin. We reevaluatd Prausnitz-Kustner reactivity after 15 years and the IgE antibody and cutaneous reactivity appeared unchanged. IgE-mediated insulin allergy appears to be declining.
