Abstract

The data reviewed here demonstrate a role for insulin-mediated glucose metabolism in the relationship between fasting, carbohydrate intake, and sympathetic activity. A model relating insulin-mediated glucose metabolism to sympathetic nervous system activity during fasting and carbohydrate feeding is presented.
