Abstract

γ-ray spectroscopy response for CdZnTe planar detector (10 mm×10 mm×2.5 mm) made by ourself is evaluated using an un-collimated 241Am (59.5 keV) radioactive source at room temperature for 10 h continuously, in which the polarization is not occurred. The γ-ray (59.5 keV) response spectra of the detector are acquired for a long time (1 year), it shows that operation of the detector is stable. A thick CdZnTe capacitive Frisch grid detector (10 mm×5 mm×10 mm) is fabricated in order to approach high collection efficiency for high-energy γ-rays. An excellent energy resolution of 3.65% for 137Cs at 662 keV is obtained without any additional signal processing.
