Abstract
The chalcocyanide compounds K4[Re6S10(CN)2] (1) and K4[Re6Se10(CN)4] (2) have been synthesized from ReQ2 (Q = S, Se) and molten KCN at high temperatures and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. Both compounds exhibit bridging chalcogenido ligands between [Re6Q8]2+ cores and terminal CN- ligands.
