Abstract

The Italian Renaissance was a transformative period of advances in art, architecture, literature, and science. Using historiometry, we analyze the early Medici leaders in Florence through the lens of 16 modern theories, classifying outcomes as leader effectiveness, attitudes, behaviors, and cognition. This work provides a portrait of the leadership behind the Italian Renaissance and underscores the value of a viewing leadership as multitheoretical and equifinal.
