Abstract
The American Society of Newspaper Editors brought together journalists and other supporters of open government to plan a commemoration of 30 years of the federal Freedom of Information Act. This is a report of the conference "Celebrating the Right to Know" that took place at The Freedom Forum on September 12-13, 1996 in Arlington, VA.
