Linearized phase-modulated optical analog links using interferometric detection and sum-frequency generation

Abstract

We analyze using sum-frequency generation as a tool to linearize photonic links. Interferometrically demodulated links can show a 6.8 dB increased dynamic range over 500 MHz bandwidth with a sub-3 dB reduction in noise figure.
