Localized photon operators and the concept of photons

Abstract

It has been claimed in the theoretical literature that localized photons necessarily have an energy density that drops off as a power law of distance. The author disagrees with this claim and describes the theoretical study he has carried out to disprove it. He considers the implications for experimental studies.
