The results of a self-consistent spin-polarized LMTO band study of CeAl//2 are presented. It is shown that an anti-ferromagnetic state is stable in CeAl//2 and is favored over the ferromagnetic state. The calculated Fermi surfaces in LaAl//2 and CeAl//2 suggest that the f-electron in Ce is localized and does not participate in the transport properties of the genaralized susceptibility associated with Fermi surface.
