Magnetic phase diagram of slow cooled β-phase CoGa alloys

Abstract

Measurements of the Faraday balance and ac susceptibility performed on slow cooled CoxGa1-x are reported for 0.49 ≤ x ≤ 0.58. Measurements were performed in the temperature range 0.5 K < T < 400 K and for fields of {less-than or approximate} 1 mT and 0.75 T. Our results lead to the identification of spin glass behavior for 0.50 ≤ x ≤ 0.56 and ferromagnetism for x > 0.56. A magnetic phase diagram is proposed.
