Abstract

A study on the fuel cells materials is presented. The primary components of a fuel cell are an ion conducting electrolyte, a cathode, and an anode. The desirable characteristics of fuel cell electrolytes are not only high ionic conductivity but also impermeability to gases, negligible electronic conductivity, chemical stability under a wide range of conditions, and good mechanical integrity.
