Abstract

We present new measurements of branching fractions for the color-favored decays (Formula presented) and (Formula presented) Using (Formula presented) pairs collected with the CLEO detector, we obtain the branching fractions (Formula presented) and (Formula presented) The first error is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is due to the experimental uncertainty on the production ratio of charged and neutral B mesons in (Formula presented) decays. These results, together with the current world average for the color-suppressed branching fraction (Formula presented) are used to determine the cosine of the strong phase difference (Formula presented) between the (Formula presented) and (Formula presented) isospin amplitudes. We find (Formula presented) and obtain a (Formula presented) confidence interval of (Formula presented) This nonzero value of (Formula presented) suggests the presence of final state interactions in the (Formula presented) system.
