Abstract

Direct picosecond measurements of refractive and absorptive nonlineariteis in In0.530Al0.141Ga0.329As/In 0.530Ga0.47As multi-quantum-wells in the range 1480 nm to 1550 nm are reported. Large, low-threshold nonlinear index changes (Δnmax=-0.14) with figures of merit larger than 1 are measured.
