Abstract

Highly ordered two‐dimensional sheets sustained by π‐donor/π‐acceptor interactions and the ability to form an inclusion complex with ferrocene with only minimal changes in crystal packing are the outstanding features of the macrocyclic tetracation 1. This cyclophane can be prepared in two steps from bipyridine and the dibromide 2. (Figure Presented.)
