Abstract

We present the synthesis and characterization of a novel metal-organic molecular solid using the ligand 4,8-disulfonaphthalene-2,6-dlcarboxylic add. The solid features a sulfonated, isolated supertetrahedra, [Fe 16O4(SO4)12(L2)6], bullt from mixed-valence [Fe33+Fe2+3-O) (μ3-S04)3(-C02)3] clusters.
