Abstract

A Monte Carlo method developed for the simulation of systems of Markov equations is adapted to the dependencies of work stations' failure rates found in production lines with multiple stages, each containing parallel work stations. A model for the simulation of buffers between stages is incorporated and the method is applied to the simulation of multistage buffered production lines.
