Abstract

To the Editor: During a two-week period in 1982 (May 23 through June 7), while jogging in Lincoln Park, I was attacked six times by a large black bird, species unknown. When I bicycled or walked through the same area I was not attacked. Five of the attacks came from behind. I suffered no injuries. I saw one other jogger attacked at the same spot on the path. Neither my wife nor my jogging partner (who was out of town at the time) believed my story about the attacks. Because all the attacks occurred along the same stretch of 30.
