Abstract
Ultra-compact directional couplers and `race track' micro-resonators as nano-photonic building blocks for a range of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) devices were designed, fabricated and demonstrated. The devices included are ultra-compact directional couplers, channel dropping filters, 1×N demultiplexers and 2×2 crossbar switches.
