Abstract

Take the rough without the smooth: The electrodeposition of patterned metal microelectrodes on a chip-based platform led to biosensors with varying sensitivity according to the degree of surface nano-structuring, which could be controlled systematically (see picture). The sensitivity of microelectrodes with highly nanostructured surfaces was superior to that of smooth microelectrodes.
