Abstract

Three new octahedral ionic rhenium tellurocyanide cluster compounds [Co(dien)2]2[Re6Te8(CN) 6]·4H2O (1), [Cu(dien)2] 2[Re6Te8(CN)6]·4H 2O (2), and [Co(dien)2]3[Re6Te 8(CN)6]Br2·H2O (3) (dien = diethylenetriamine) have been obtained by the diffusion of an ammonia solution of Cs4[Re6Te8(CN)6]·2H 2O into a glycerol solution of COCl2·6H 2O (for 1 and 3) or CuCl2·2H2O (for 2) in the presence of dien. The compounds have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods and by elemental analyses.
