Abstract
Cation distributions in the system Fe3O4{single bond}CoFe2O4 from 600 to 1300°C were calculated from high-temperature thermopower measurements on oxygen-stoichiometric specimens. Behavior is virtually identical to that in the Fe3O4{single bond}MgFe2O4 system. Conductivity inCoxFe3-xO4 (x < 1) obeys the relationshipσ = [d e / (d + e)] T- 1 exp [14.3 - 1475 T- 1 (1 + 1.189 x2)],, whered ande are the octahedral Fe2+ and Fe3+ occupancies, respectively.
